Let me take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Dom Brown and I am running for Borough Council and State Constable in Franklin County. I am a family man with strong conservative values. During my life, I have had many experiences that have empowered my love for our country and many experiences that have helped me understand where we need to focus and which areas need to change for a better tomorrow. In 1995, I enlisted in the Army as a young man wanting to help change the world. I had the privilege of serving the United States of America for over sixteen years. During my service, I had the honor of providing security for the inauguration of two Presidents. Like many soldiers at the time of 9/11, I deployed three times to Iraq/Afghanistan over a four-year period.  I was a convoy commander and led over 500 successful missions with no lives lost. I completed my service at Letterkenny Army Depot and retired from the Army as a decorated combat veteran. I am not done serving the American people. I serve on many boards as a leader as well as a board member. I firmly believe that to make real change for America, we need to start making changes within our communities first. This is what has driven me to run for political office.

 

            I need your help for this next step though. In early 2021, I won the primary election in Franklin County for Borough Council and State Constable. Although this was a victory for my campaign, I know we have much more work to do. I am looking for organizations and individuals from the community to support my campaign and stand with me to create deep changes not only within our community but also within our Borough, County, and State. I desire to make positive changes within Chambersburg that create more diversity and equality within our community. If you support my campaign, you are standing with me on issues like accountability and transparency of tax utilization; creating safe children programs that are year-round; increasing economic development; communicating information regarding taxes, and lowering school taxes for the senior community. Also, I will continue to work on the re-development of the Southgate Shopping Center. I believe firmly in communities being informed thereby empowering the people. I think this is such a vital aspect in rebuilding the community trust in our elected officials and creating growth and opportunities for Franklin County.

 

If elected, I will focus everything I have on these topics:

 

•Creating programs for children that are affordable, safe, and year-round. I am also involved with a program that helps to feed our community, which will continue as part of community outreach in Franklin County.

 

•I will fight for our senior community here in Franklin County. I will voice the concerns for the community at the Local, County, and State levels. The amount of taxes the senior community pays is absurd. I will fight to make sure our senior citizen community is taken care of.

 

•I want our minority community to feel heard and to bridge our community together as a whole. This can be done by education, walking the streets, asking what changes they want to see, handing out meals, empowering them by providing information and resources available to them, and using my voice to lift theirs.

 

•Continue the Southgate Shopping Center Re-Development. I stand firm on creating safe places within our community and turning what is dilapidated and decaying into something beautiful for all to see and use. This not only lifts the community morale but also opens doors to new opportunities and jobs.
